Bringing to life one of the Skywalker saga’s most iconic locations, the new set is sure to become an instant classic as fans immerse themselves in the famous cantina’s world of smugglers, musicians, bounty hunters and Jedi Knights. I’ve started work on a Docking Bay 94 to add to the back of the cantina, this will be a fairly big addition as I want a parking space for my micro Millennium Falcon and if I can get it right I’ll add it as an extra build to this moc and the Falcon too.Billund, September 9, 2020: Coming from a galaxy far, far away and into to the homes of LEGO enthusiasts and Star Wars fans across the world – the LEGO Group’s new LEGO® Star Wars building set, the Mos Eisley Cantina™ set, will dazzle adult builders and film fans alike. I’ll keep trying to make it even cheaper just in case one of you crazy folk actually want to build it! I didn’t plan this moc as part of my long to-do list but it’s been a fun little side project for the week. I’ve done my best to use common parts, bricks rather than plates and cheaper colours wherever possible, this is why the ground is dark tan rather than regular tan. ![]() The build is roughly to scale with my other micro projects but unfortunately it’s still pretty big with a lot of pieces, so the cost for parts is going to be £65-70. For completeness I’ve also added a roof to the cantina, although this obscured most of the bar so it’s probably best to leave it off. When the cantina is closed up the two smaller buildings and moisture vaporators connect to the back, making the footprint a compact 29 studs wide and 22 deep (22.6 x 17.2cm), just a bit bigger than an A5 sheet of paper. I’ve tried to include as many of the visual and functional features of the set as possible, all of the characters, creatures and vehicles are present (plus one extra, Luke’s landspeeder!) and the main cantina and small domed shop open up in the same way as the full size set. but also absolutely huge! It’s far too big for those of us without a mansion so here’s a more desk friendly micro version of set 75290. ![]() Seeing the new Mos Eisley Cantina set in the flesh was a real eye opener, just looking at press photos I didn’t see the appeal but now I think it’s a beautiful thing. ![]()
